The Problem: This fireplace is non-working fireplace but it is a focal point in this kitchen and needed to be cleaned and brought to life. This refresh project was to be an easy weekend project, on a budget.
The Solution: The fireplace was first cleaned with fireplace cleaner. To instantly brighten up the fireplace surround we used peel and stick wallpaper to face the stone. the faux grasscloth gave the perfect sophisticated vibe without being too serious. This is now the focal point we envisioned.
The Problem: this former office ended up becoming a drop zone for items that didn't have a home. It had a desk but wasn't a real office. Since it is off a dining room, we needed to curate a space that would be suitable for guests but also some work.
Solution: The room was combined into an office on one side and a sitting room on the other. Guests can now gather here for a quick drink before or after dinner, and walk right into the adjacent dining room for mealtime. Yet, the room is on the end of the house away from noise-making it perfect for work zoom meetings.
